Subject: Grail: "The Great Brightness" - `An Unexpected Visitor'

William entered Sickbay, shrugging on his blue jacket. He looked

around Sickbay. Nothing had changed since his shift had ended. Seven

people on biobeds, just visible behind the translucent screen of the

biofield surrounding them. The 'night shift' crew getting settled into

their duties. Lt. Davenport, the ranking officer on the shift,

approached Ramius.

"Doctor," she began in a questioning tone, "what are you doing

here at this time of night?"

William stifled a yawn. "We have a new vistior, yet another alien

ambassador. He's coming here, I presume for a workup, and it would seem

that the Captain doesn't want anyone except me to look him over. I just

hope they get here before I fall asleep."

Alexandra smiled and Ramius winked at her once, then went and got

a cup of coffee as he waited for the ambassador and his escort party to

arrive.
