Uniforms of the Romulan Imperial Fleet and Tal Shiar will be made of many different fabric patterns. These denote the House membership of the wearer, and do not reflect any function of rank or assignment. The closest Terran equivalent are the Scottish Tartan designs. In this chart, a house-neutral light gray color is used.
Romulan Imperial Fleet Duty Uniform
The Imperial Fleet Duty Uniform is worn by all members of the Imperial Fleet during normal duties, regardless of rank. It is not worn by the Tal Shiar.
Romulan Dress Uniform
The Romulan Dress Uniform is worn by both the Tal Shiar and the Imperial Fleet for formal occasions. It is a reference to the old Imperial uniforms of the 23rd century, and the only remaining uniforms to still have the shoulder sash.
Tal Shiar Duty Uniform
The Tal Shiar Duty Uniform is worn by all members of the Tal Shiar, regardless of rank. It is almost identical to the Imperial Fleet Uniform, except for a distinctive extra shoulder belt on the right side.
Romulan Duty Fatigues
Romulan Duty Fatigues are worn when performing maintenance, physical labor, or a less formal attire is needed.
